BA's Refugee Camp

Whilst BA and BAA argue with each other over who is to blame for the chaos at Heathrow caused by the current snowy conditions, BA have set up a "refugee camp" for stranded/delayed passengers. the latest news and views on British Airways, the world's "favourite" airline.

    The fact that BA are asking for unpaid volunteers speaks volumes. Perhaps if they hadn't pi55ed off all their staff over the last couple of years they may have had enough vols, sadly most feel 'why should we?' When the front-line staff do not get any loyalty from the company and some other departments it beggars belief that that same company expects loyalty from those staff. Many front-line staff are wondering why there was such a dearth of senior management in the terminal during the bad weather - oh of course - it was the weekend! Also there are three new de-icing stations at LHR apparently only one was operational. No-one seemed to want to take the initiative and cancel or amalgamate flights in advance even though there was plenty of warning of the bad weather. Frontline staff were doing 14, 15, 16 hour days, Waterworld ( ;-) )staff went home early...
